Tee is a passionate outdoorsman and conservationist with more than 15 years of experience on both the public and private side of conservation. He has spent most of his life in his native Richmond, VA, and is proud to have been instrumental in protecting thousands of acres in his home state and around the country.
Megan runs Broad Water’s operations and keeps projects moving.
Ben is a lifelong outdoorsman and an advocate for conservation and the people who care for our land and waters. He monitors easements, coordinates stewardship, and builds the partnerships that keep land protected for the long term. He serves on several nonprofit boards and lives in Roanoke with his wife and two children.
Jessica leads Broad Water’s education program and scholarship, bringing a career built at the crossroads of science and teaching. She holds a Ph.D. in Ecology and spent over a decade as a professor and department chair, helping build environmental science programs that incorporated math, economics, and the humanities. Outside the classroom, she’s carried that same energy into land and food policy work with groups like the Catawba Lands Conservancy and the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Food Policy Council. For Jessica, good conservation starts with good teaching that helps people find their own connection to the systems that sustain us.
Nicola has been an ecologist and technical writer for Broad Water since 2021, through her company Wild Ginger Field Services. She builds long-term stewardship plans and works the budgets to suit the resource agencies — chasing the best ecological outcome on every site, stream, wetland, species, or nutrient.
Liz is an Executive Office Administrator and Longwood University graduate who brings organization, dedication, and a personal touch to everything she does. Outside of work, she enjoys exploring her creativity through art and spending time in the garden. She’s also a proud rescue pit bull mom to Ava, who keeps busy with lots of walks and never enough pets.
James is a Co-Founder and Managing Partner with Clearwater Ventures LLC, which provides its clients with ecosystem services and offset solutions. He has worked in the ecosystem services industry since 2008, developing and operating ecological offset projects throughout the U.S., including stream and wetland mitigation, habitat and endangered species conservation, natural resource damage assessment, and water quality nutrient reduction projects. James is a founding member of the Virginia Mitigation Banking Association and a past board member and president of the Ecological Restoration Business Association. He holds a BA from James Madison University and an MBA from the UVA Darden School of Business. He resides in Richmond, VA with his wife, two children, and several pets.
Kerry brings a distinctive combination of legal training and land-use expertise to his practice. Before entering private practice, he served as Staff Counsel for the Virginia Outdoors Foundation, where he developed deep experience in conservation easements and land protection. He has since broadened his practice to include commercial and residential real estate transactions, stream/wetland/nutrient banking, land use law, landlord-tenant matters, and other land-related legal services. Kerry continues to work closely with prospective conservation easement donors, owners of properties already protected by conservation easements, and private land trusts, helping clients navigate the complex intersection of property rights, regulatory requirements, and long-term conservation goals. Outside of the office, Kerry enjoys writing and performing music on a variety of instruments, fly fishing and fly tying, reading, and spending time with his wife and two teenage sons.
Tara is a Bank Development Director with RES, the country’s largest provider of ecological restoration. She manages a portfolio of wetland, stream, and water quality nutrient banks located on the East Coast, Midwest, and Gulf Coast, with over 20 years of experience managing more than 100 wetland and stream mitigation bank sites and project-specific mitigation sites. Tara holds a BA from the University of Pennsylvania and a Master of Environmental Management from Duke University. She resides in Fairfax, Virginia with her husband and two children.
Aaron has deep experience in property acquisitions, due diligence, design, entitlement, and development as a general manager and director for regional and national ecological restoration firms, working on mitigation and ecological restoration for environmental permits, enforcement, and compliance requirements throughout Virginia and many other states. Since 2007, he has entitled, developed, and operated 20+ Mitigation Banks and 10 Permittee Responsible Mitigation (PRM) projects, along with numerous nutrient banks and other turnkey TMDL (Chesapeake Bay Nutrient) projects, as well as a Salmon Estuary Project in Oregon. Aaron runs New Bay LLC, a Richmond, Virginia business focused on delivering results via land-based ecosystem services across design, development, operations, and strategic marketplace positioning for key clients. He holds an M.B.A. from the Darden School of Business, an M.A. in Environmental Planning from the School of Architecture, and a B.A. in Environmental Science, all from the University of Virginia, and is a LEED-accredited professional with four certified projects to his credit. He is married with two children and lives in Richmond, Virginia.
Kyle grew up near Farmville, VA, spending every possible minute hunting, fishing, hiking, and camping in the rolling hills around his home and the public land around Virginia and beyond. He graduated from Hampden-Sydney College in 2016 with a degree in Political Science and Biology, and works for the National Parks Conservation Association, advocating for better public lands and environmental protections for Virginia’s rivers and lands. He lives outside of Richmond, VA with his wife, Jennessa, and their dog, Graham.
Growing up in Waynesboro, VA, Darin watched the power of conservation management with the restoration of the South River. He has managed and consulted on numerous quail restoration projects. He is the Outdoor Operations Manager of Little George Rod and Gun in Buckingham, VA.
